Meals at University Mound Ladies Home
Meals are planned to meet nutritional needs and are served to residents' tables in our beautiful dining room. The weekly menu is printed and distributed to residents in advance, and residents are encouraged to invite family members and other guests to join them for meals. Special menus for holidays and special occasions are planned in cooperation with the Activities Director.
The staff is happy to adapt meals to physician-ordered diets and to residents' special needs, such as cut, chopped, or ground foods. Salt and sugar intake is monitored, as is the amount of food consumed. Residents are weighed each month, and liquid food supplements are used with physician approval when deemed necessary.
Residents are encouraged to socialize with tablemates during meals, but in-room tray service is available in cases of fatigue or illness.
